It's an unconscious recording, made on the way to the supermarket when the phone in my pocket mistakenly turned on the recording automatically. To me it's an ordinary, everyday recording, and it's hard to even feel that it's the background of a supermarket in the midst of an epidemic. It's hard for me to accept the ordinary as is, but I chose it purely because of its naturalism. My original idea was to make a field recording of the climate, people, plants, microorganisms, and the whole scene of life. It has to be powerful, or at least powerful to myself, which is a bit too much to ask, both for equipment and timing. An epidemic has altered many plans and ideas, and blurred a lot of ambitions and passions. Now my main concern is what I eat everyday. As long as I can eat, and as long as I'm still thinking about food, I don't feel too bad. People who can still go to the supermarket and grab groceries and stock up are people who still have hopes in life.
